CapTel
- For CapTel Caller: Just dial the person you are calling directly
- For Hearing Caller: Dial 1-877-243-2823CapTel phone users place a call in the same way they would when using a traditional phone - by dialing the number directly. The CapTel™ phone automatically connects to Sprint's captioning relay service as you dial. When the person you're calling answers, you hear everything that he/she says, just like a traditional phone call.
Here's how to make a call with CapTel Relay Service:
When dialing out, simply dial the number of the person you want to call.
Your CapTel phone will automatically connect to both the captioning service and the party you wish to reach.
A Relay Operator transcribes everything the party says to you into written text (captions) using the very latest in voice-recognition technology. Here's how to receive a call from a hearing person via CapTel Relay Service:
The person calling you should first dial 877-243-2823 (toll free) and then enter your pphone number.
Once connected, the caller then enters your phone number.
Whether it's an incoming or outgoing call, everything the caller says to you is transcribed into captions that display in a bright, easy-to-read window on your CapTel phone.** CapTel users are responsible for their own long distance charges. Although there is no charge for using CapTel service, some states may require users to purchase a CapTel phone.
